On Naxos art and handicraft can be found in several shops and galleries. I would like to mention a few who showcase interesting art/handicraft and production methods.

ΕΡΓΑΣΤΗΡΙ ΚΕΡΑΜΙΚΗΣ - Ceramics Workshop

The potteries by Emilia Giannarou and Konstantinos Nitsakos (Ε. ΓΙΑΝΝΑΡΟΥ, Κ. ΝΙΤΣΑΚΟΣ), is found in their workshop in Agios Prokopios, just outside Chora.

Their potteries are very beautiful and fascinating and have a certain glow of silver, gold and other colours. The main reason for this result is that they use an old fashion burn method called raka. The burning takes place outdoors in the ground. It is a rather difficult method and it is hard to tell in forehand how the final result of the glaze will turn out. Some of their items are inspired by the Greek mythology, others by local environment and sea. In the photo section, folder 2006, you can find three photos from their workshop (it was situated in Chora back then). Mobile: 694 6349855, 694 5803487.

Χειροποιω – Glass workshop

Beautiful and colourful glass items as well as art on canvas, metal and wood created by two artists are showcased in this workshop, situated in the middle of the walking street by the water front, in Chora. There is a large collection of blown glass pieces and FUSING. You can find items in different prices categories, for example some smaller pieces ideal as presents. L´OLIVIER H EΛΛIA - Fish & Olive CREATIONS

Work by the accomplished art potter Katharina Bolesh and her husband Alex who works with marble and olive wood, can be viewed in the charming workshop, situated in Platia Chalki, the beautiful square at the heart of Chalki village. In their shop you will also find other items such as honey and olive soap, organic olive oil, candle lights etcetera. Typical motifs on Katharina’s pottery include fish and olives, but also lizards, octopuses, bees and frogs and other Naxian symbols. More information is found on their website: www.fish-olive-creations.com.
